Still being confirmed with the operator: launched, live chat, app. We publish figures once we've checked them, not before.

The Sun Play is probably the best-known name in Jumpman Gaming’s stable, and that name is doing something specific: it’s borrowing trust from a newspaper millions of people read. Worth unpicking what it does and doesn’t mean.

Whose casino is this, actually?

Not The Sun’s. The site is operated by Jumpman Gaming Limited, licensed by the Gambling Commission under account number 39175. We checked the register directly on 27 August 2026, and thesunplay.co.uk is listed against that licence.

This is a brand licensing arrangement: the newspaper lends its masthead, the operator runs the casino. It’s entirely legitimate and extremely common — Mirror Bingo, Express Wins and OK Bingo are the same deal with different mastheads, all on the same platform.

What it means practically:

  • Your account, your balance and your withdrawals sit with Jumpman Gaming, not News Group Newspapers.
  • A complaint goes to the operator, and if unresolved, to the operator’s alternative dispute resolution provider — not to the paper.
  • The games, terms and promotions are the platform’s. They’re the same ones its non-newspaper sisters run.

None of that is a mark against the site. It’s a mark against assuming a familiar name means a different kind of business.

What £10 gets you

Quoted from the site’s own terms, 27 August 2026:

New players only, £10+ fund, 10x bonus wagering requirements, max bonus conversion to real funds equal to lifetime deposits (up to £250)

Deposit £10 or more and you get a spin of the wheel, which decides your free spins — up to 500 as the top prize.

10x wagering is the genuinely good part. Most UK welcome offers sit at 35x or 40x; some run to 65x. At 10x, £40 of bonus needs £400 of stakes rather than £1,600. Our wagering calculator will run your own numbers.

“Up to 500” is the part to be realistic about. The number comes from a wheel whose segment odds the site doesn’t publish. Five hundred is the ceiling, not the expectation, and no amount of reading the terms will tell you the distribution.

Conversion capped at lifetime deposits, to a maximum of £250 is the part that decides what the offer is worth. Bonus winnings convert to real money only up to what you’ve deposited in total. On a £10 deposit, £10 converts, however well the spins go. That single clause matters more than the headline, and it’s why the bonus scores 5 out of 10 despite the excellent wagering figure.

The games, and where they come from

Standard Jumpman library: Pragmatic Play, Blueprint Gaming, Eyecon and Games Global, several hundred titles including the Big Bass series, Fluffy Favourites, Eye of Horus and Sweet Bonanza.

There is no Sun-exclusive content that we could identify, and no reason to expect any — the shelf is the platform’s. The bonus terms restrict bonus wagering to a named subset of games, which is the list that matters while you’re clearing anything.

Demo play availability and in-game RTP display are outstanding checks.

Promotions beyond the welcome

The platform’s usual rotation: Turbo Reel, Friday cashback paid to the account, and prize draws tied to wagering on nominated games. Terms differ per promotion and several use 65x rather than the welcome’s 10x, so each needs its own read.

Money in, money out

Deposits by debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro), PayPal, pay by mobile, Paysafecard, Skrill or Neteller, from £10 — a wider spread than many UK casinos manage, with PayPal a notable inclusion.

Withdrawals are processed within 24 hours per the terms. There’s a 48-hour reversal window in which a pending withdrawal can be returned to your playable balance, which is worth knowing about if you withdraw in order to stop.

Identity verification is required before your first withdrawal. How casino withdrawals work covers what to have ready.

On mobile

Responsive site, installable to a home screen as a web app, no native iOS or Android app. Given everything runs in a browser, that’s an acceptable place to be.

Licensing, and the protections that come with it

The UK licence — 039175-R-319452-025, remote casino and bingo — brings segregated handling of player funds, mandatory safer-gambling tools, GamStop coverage and a free dispute-resolution route. The footer also declares Alderney regulation for customers outside Great Britain; for UK players the UK licence is the operative one.

Deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs, self-exclusion and GamStop are all available. Set a deposit limit early — it’s immediate to lower and deliberately slow to raise.

Getting help

Support is a web form and support@jumpmangaming.com, an address shared across the whole family. No live chat, no published response times. It’s the weakest part of the site and scores 4 out of 10.

If the newspaper association made you expect a customer-service operation to match, it doesn’t. You’re in the same queue as every other Jumpman brand.

Signing up and logging in

Register with email and password, add name, date of birth and address, then deposit £10 or more to trigger your wheel spin. No promo code is needed. Verification documents may be requested before a first withdrawal.

Log back in with the same details; fingerprint and Face ID can be switched on afterwards on a phone. Forgotten passwords are self-service via the login screen.

The verdict

6 out of 10. The Sun Play is a competent, properly licensed casino with unusually low wagering and a good spread of payment methods, wrapped in a name you already know.

That name is the reason most people arrive, and it’s the one thing the review can usefully correct: it’s a licensing deal, not a newspaper running a casino. Judge it on the terms instead — and on those, it’s the same offer as a dozen sister sites, decided by a wheel and capped by your own deposits.

  • 10x wagering on bonus cash is low compared with most UK welcome offers

What's not

  • The newspaper name is licensing, not operation — your account and your money sit with Jumpman Gaming
  • The up-to-500-spins headline is a wheel outcome, not an amount you are given
  • Conversion of bonus winnings is capped at your lifetime deposits, up to £250
